Code of Conduct Policy
Every player shows respect to all other players. Any discrimination based on race, colour, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, politics, mental or physical disability, will simply not be tolerated. We are an LGBTQ2S inclusive group.
This includes not making derogatory comments about any particular group.
Failing to respect other players may result in exclusion from the gameWe are all here to have fun. When another player is speaking or taking a turn, do not talk over them. Everyone gets a chance to role-play their character and participate in combat.
Leave space for other people to play their characters. If you are doing most of the talking, then you are almost certainly impinging on other people’s playing time. Similarly, if you are making all the decisions, then you need to leave space for others to make decisions, even if it is not the “best” decision. Sometimes the most fun is had in seeing how things pan out after a bad decision.
Do not talk over the top of the Dungeon Master. It might not be interesting to you, but it is of interest to someone at the table.
Having fun and joking around is great and encouraged but keep the humour clean. No crude humour allowed
Your character may die. Do not take it personally. The threat of death is real in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
The Dungeon Master has the final word on all rulings. You may raise a point-of-order, but if it turns out into a long drawn-out conversation, then the Dungeon Master makes the final ruling, The subtleties of the ruling can be further discussed outside of the game.
Be on time for the scheduled start because we will start on time.
Dark themes are not part of this game. There will be no torture. sexual violence, or anything else I consider to be too dark.
I require 24 hours cancellation notice. During the 24 hours prior to play, I plan out the game. If someone cancels at the last minute, then a lot of this planning goes to waste.
Failure to provide 24 hours notice and not showing up will be considered a No Show. Too many No Shows and you’ll be removed from the game.
Exceptions will be made for family emergencies and other unexpected things.
If there are four people in a session, then we will play, even if it means two absent players miss outAnd last, of all, have fun!
Discord Code of Conduct
Treat each other with respect and kindness always.
Always be civil (e.g. no offensive language or personal attacks, practice empathy and patience in all discussions, and learn when to leave a discussion).
Please note that tone can be difficult to read in text format, and everyone has a different perspective and frame of reference. Be aware that sarcasm, dark humor, and in-jokes may not be interpreted as you intended.
If the discussion has become circular (just rehashing/discussing the same points over and over), people are talking past each other (consistently not understanding points of view and just getting “louder”), and/or moving to personal insults or unpleasant generalizations, it’s time to pause or stop the conversation.
Additionally, asking questions in bad faith, asking questions to provoke a negative reaction or drama, and/or repeatedly asking questions in a “debate me” manner (sealioning) under the guise of civility or “just asking” is harassment. Don’t chase a conversation that someone doesn’t want to have.
Racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, pejorative language or any other hatred will not be tolerated.
In this vein, we prohibit media and terminology that has been conflated with groups that promote hate and are discriminatory towards vulnerable groups
Prohibited examples include and are not limited to:
Pepe the Frog and related imagery
Gootecks imagery
The use of terms such as “kek”, “lel”, “reee”, “simp”
Inappropriate emoji use (context and subtext matter, e.g.: 🍆 as an example of genitalia)
Workarounds (aka rule evasion) for prohibited emotes (e.g. typing out “monkaS” in place of a Pepe Emote)
